AS the Little River Line, will shortly he opened for regular traffic, not cc is given that no timber, posts and rails, etc., will be loaded except at the sidings. Those persons who have timber deposited at other points along the line can forward consignment not&s at once, when arrangements will be made for loading, but no consignment will he accepted unless the consignment notes are forwarded on or before Friday, May 19 th. These can he sent to Station Master Lincoln, deposited in the box at Birdling's Flat, or h mded to Guard of special goods train, which will leave Christchurch.for Birdling's Flat at 7.50 a.m. on Friday, 19th inst, FREDK. ANY person may appoint the Public Trustee executor and trustee under his will or codicil. Auy present trustee may transfer the management of trust property to the Public Trustee, who will thereupon hold such property upon the original trusts attaching thereto. Any person, company, association, or public body within or without the colony, may place any property belonging to them in charge of the Public Trustee upon trust for such uses as may be defined in the deed creating the trust. Any building, land, or friendly society may, by its rules, provide that property belonging to it may be placed in the Public Trust Office, for such trusts and uses and with such powers as may be defined in or by the said rules. Ihe advantages offered are : — Ist. State Guarantee against peculation, fraud, or dishonesty.

2nd. All proposed investments are considered by a Board, consisting of the Honorable Colonial Treasurer, the Attorney General, the Comptroller and Auditor General, the Government Insurance Commissioner, and the Public Trustee. Careful consideration of all securities offered it is therefore insured. 3rd. The Public Trustee, in his corporate capacity, never dies, never LEAVES THE COUNTRY, aild NEVER BECOMES incapacitated, thus avoiding the many inconveniences resulting from frequent fresh appointments of Trustees' necessitated by death, change of abode, or mental or bodily infirmity. 4th. Punctuality and promptitude in the remittance of periodical payments to beneficiaries under trust or will to any part of the colony or elsewhere at which t may be desired that payment should be made. sth. The effective check which is called into operation before any moneys can be paid from the Public Trustee's account, 6th. Reasonable charges : On estates such as are now being considered the Public Trustee is authorised to charge \\ per cent, on all recepts, and 1\ per cent, on disbursments, and 5s per cent, on all moneys invested. No charge is made for obtaining probate, nor for passing stamp and property tax returns, nor for correspondence, however voluminous. Thus the saving to estates placed in this office is considerable.
