ADDRESS IN REPLY. A committee was appointed on the motion of the Hon Mr Whitoker to prepare an address in reply. COMMITTEES. The Hon Mr Wbitaker gave notice to move tbe reappointment of Captain ♦Baillie as Chairman of Committees. THE HUSH SECRETARY. In reply to Colonel Brett, Mr Whitaker said tbe Government bad sent no message of condolence re Lord Cavendish, and did not intend to. PERSONAL. Mr Pharazyn gave i.otieo for a return of the expenses in connection with the prosecution of himself for personation. __
EMPLOYMENT OF CHILDREN IN THEATRES.
Hon Mr Buckley gave notice to ask Mr Whitnker, on Tuesday, if he will bring in a Bill to prevent the employment of children in theatres, and the Billsrecommended by tbe Judicature Commission for the Simplification of Procedure in the Law Courts. Also to ask whether the Govern ment have taken any action with reference to a recommendation by a committee of the Civil Service ; and under what process of law the Government allowed Te Whiti and Tohu to go sight seeingatChristchurch. Also, if they are now in custody, and if so, by what authority. The Council adjourned at 2.50 p.m.
