GERMAN BAY SCHOOL COMMITTEE

To the Editor

Sir, —Permit inu to correct a few mistatemerits tint appear in Mr Ch;sppelP letter of the 12th May. Me sfiys a coni_ mittee meeting was held on the 16ti March 1881, it being the night of fufj moon. On reference to the minute boo 1 find i:o committee meeting was held o that date. Again, Air Chappell says h heard Messrs Curry, Jones and myself 6 met in German Bay on Wednesday morning. Mr Chappell should not write letters to a paper on hear-say, for I can tell him I have not spoken to Mr Jones since the '26th April. What an opinion Mr Chappell must have of his strategy, when he thinks it takes three to plan an attack that will turn his Hanks. lam also accused of being uncivil to Mr Chappell on the 3rd inst., when he called on me and tried to bounce me into holding a meeting. If

respectfully declining to coincide with his views, can be called incivility ; I suppose his charge must be sustained. Mr ChapDell says I have an pfiinity for teachers. Why does be ;<ot use the singular number ? I may tell him that I have an affinity for any man that does his duty, and will set my face against an individual member of committee gratifying his private animosity to tho detiiment of any one.—Yours, etc.,

WM. JOLLY.

[Mr Jones letter is declined. We can insert no more correspondence on the subject.— Ed. Mail.]
