The funeral of the late Lord Frederick Cavendish will take place to-morrow at Chatsworth, Derbyshire, the seat of the Duke of Devonshire. The ceremony will be attended by a large number of distinguished personages, including all the members of the Ministry and many members of both Houses of Parliament.

Sculling matches have been arranged between Boyd and Layoouk, to take place on the Tees on ihe 3rd July ; and between Largnn and Pearce, to take place on the Thames on the 17th June next.

The Khedive has commenced the sentence of Gail, recently passed upon 34 Circassian officers for conspiracy to assassinate Arabi Pasha. His Highness has taken the step in spite of the opposition of his ministeis, who it is believed are seeking to depose him. The situation is critical, and it is reported that foreign consuls resident there have summoned the ironclads of their countries, now in the Mediterranean, to Alexandria, in view of possible complications.
