THE QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY.
To the Editor
Sir, —We are certainly a miserable dead and nlive community. The races were first of all arranged for the Queen's Birthday ; they fell through, and an attempt was made to get up some sports. About two people came to the meeting, and everything dropped through again. I suppose, therefore, we are not to celebrate Her Majesty's Birthday in any way whatever. All I can say is, it's a crying shame, more especially after her narrow escape, Is it too late ?—Yours, etc..
A LOYAL ATHLETE,
