Business has not been of an extensive nature, but prices are firm. Wheat—Tuscan wheat of fair to good quality in lines suitable for shippers will <).iuini;inil 4* 7d to 4s 9.1 f.o.b ; other wheats in similar suitable lines, 4s &i\ t) 4--s Sd per bushel; exceptionally fine Tuscan fit for seed, 4s 9.1 to 4s 10d per bushel in Christen iirch; second quality wheat. 4s Id to 4s 5.1 per bushel ; thick nnd broken wheat from 3s to 3s 9d per bushel, delivered in Christehurch. Oats—Prices are s ili linn, but to all appearance the maximum price has been reached, and consumers are casting about for substitutes ; on the other hand feeding U'u;ns have risen in sympathy, mid although prices are not likely to advance, it is nol probable that there will be ;x:ty retrograde movement ; good milling from 3s 4il to 3s G.I per bushel ; feed, from 2rf 10d to 3s 3d per bushel in Christehurch. Barley—Really good malting samples will find a sale at from 4s to 4s Gd per bushel delivered in Chrischurch ; second quality, 3s 61 to 3s 9d per bushel ; feed pfircels are not in the niarkst. Grass Seed—Really well cleaned samples are worth from 4s 9d to 5s 3d per bushel ; indift'eiently cleaned ■■ ceording to sample , cocksfoot, 4J'l to 5d per lb. Cheese, and P>utter —Hie former is saleable fit 4frl, the latter per lb.
