Christchukcti, March 27. It has been arranged that the Austrian Band shall play at the Hospital shortly. Visitors will be asked to subscribe to the destitute patients fund.
A grand wedding , took place to-day at Papanui, between Mr Thomas, of Matson & Co., and a sister of Mr John Matson's. There were a great number of presents. Mrs Matson gives a grand ball tvnight, the Austrian Band supplying the music. Two informations against publicans, one for supplying drink after hours, and the other for allowing billiards to be played after hours, were dismissed today, one on the ground of the absence of the proprietor, and the other because it was lodgers that were playing.
It is stated that Mr Quill, of Ashbnrton, is the successful tenderer for the refreshment bars at the Exhibition. Price said to lie £850.
