The Nt-w Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows :— Grass Sekds.— Christchureh— A brisk demand for iyegrnss was experienced in the earlier part of the month, which brought the price up to 5* G<l for dressed samples; but, during the last fortnight, a sight reaction has tnken place, and this figure is not now so readily obtained, 4s 9d to 5.s 3d being the present value. Dunedin — Ryegrass is in good demand at quota tions given, and the market for cocksfoot is firm at from 3£d to 4d per lb. Inver•C'lrgill—The market for ryegrass is unchanged, and our last report applies to present circumstances. Gisborne—Consider bio arliviiy has characterised ibis market during the month, sales being effected at 5s (3d f.o.b. for yood rye seed, and 5* 3d lor medium qualities. Several parcels are held for an advance on these price-. Auckland—A fair business ie being done. Good clean rye is worth 5s Gd, and cocksfoot about 7s per bushel. Wangarui—Rye is in good demand at from 4h Gd to 6s, according to qualify. A considerable business has been done in cocksfoot, prices ruling from s£d to per lb. Orimaru—Rye grass has advanced in value since our last report, present quotations being, for undressed 3s 9d to 4s 3d, and for hf.nvy well cleaned 5s 6d f.o.b. Taninaki—Cocksfoot now finds buyers at jd per lb, over last month's quotation.

Dairy Prodi'CE.—Ohrisfchurch—Butter —In consequence of the usual falling off of the pastures at this season of the year, the production of butter has somewhat diminished, Prices have improved to 8d and Bjd, at which figures the demand is good.
