Nomination, £2 ; acceptance, £2. Open to all comers, 2. Maiden Steeplechase of 20 soys ; second horse, Mr Kissel's prize of Saddle and Bridle. Distance about \\ miles. For horses which have never won a steeplechase, and whose owners reside in that part of the County of Akaroa to the eastward of Gebbie's Valley and Head of Bay Road. Entrance, £2. Weight for age. 3. County Handicap Steeplechase of 15 soys. Distance about two miles. Nomination, £1 ; acceptance, £1. For horses the bond fide property of gentlemen resident in tlie County of Akaroa. 4. Consolation Steeplechase of 10 sDvs, for beaten horses only. Distance about H miles. Kntrance, £ I 5. Hack Steeplechase. Post entries RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. There must be three or more entries for each event or there will be no race. 2. No entries will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, their decision on all points connected with carrying out the above programme to be final. 3. Grand National Rules strictly adhered to, unless otherwise specified. 4. A County horse shall mean any horse that Ims been commonly resident in the Akaroa County three months prior to May 24th, 1882, and owned by a person who has resided in the said County during the same period. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident in that part of the County of Akaroa to the eastward of Gebbie's Valley and Head of the Bay road, and owned by a person who has resided in the said district during the same period. 5. No person will be allowed to enter a horse without being a subscriber of at least one guinea to the funds. 6. No protest will be entertained unless sent in writing and £2 2s be deposited, which will be forfeit-d Rhould the protest, in the opinion of the stewards, prove frivolous. 7- All entries and nominations to be accompanied by entrance fees, name and age of horse, colors of rider, and horse's previous performances, to be addressed to the Secretary not later than 8 p.m. on Thursday, April the 20th. Weights will be declared and published on Friday, the 28th April. 8. Acceptances to be paid to the Secretary not later than 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 20th, 9. All horses to be ridden in declared colors. Horses walking in will receive only half the stakes. 10.
