Tkmi'okakv Offices : HEREFORD ST. CHAMBERS CIIRISTCIIUrtCH. r Company is projected with the JL objt'ct of providing the means of ! preparing and rendering fit for export the Surplus Stock and Dairy Produce of this district by tiie refrigerating or other process. The present intention of the Promoters is to restrict the Company's operations to the preparation of Meat and Dairy Produce for shipment on OWNER'S ACCOUNT, and to arrange for the sale thereof in the London Market. It is intended that the Company shall have power either to purchase or ship o« Owner's Account, as may be found desirable.; and also, that they shall oontrol the Sale as well as the Freezing - and Export of the Produce, until the scheme is lully in operation, it being evident that a concentration of interests is necessary in placing shipments on the Markets. The Preparation and Storage of Cheese and Butter for Export will become one of the most important operations of the Company, and as the Market in England for those products is practically unlimited, at prices bliowing «k) per cent advance on Cheese and IUO per cent on Butter over those current in this Colony, an extensive Export may le confidently anticipated. The Promoters, recognising this all-imrort-ant feature in the project, propose to provide Cool Storage for Butter, Cheese, etc., where iuch may be collected from Farmers, as produced and accumulated, until a vessel is re..dy to receive it. After carefnl enquiry, it is estimated that the fimoant of Capital to be called up (£.10,000) will be sufficient to acquire suitable, premises, erect tlie, necessary biiiTilings, -provide all requisite machinery *:id meet the preliminary expenses. The English and Colonial Insurance Companies offer to cover slriptnents against all risks, including deterioration on board tihip from any cause, for 5 per cent premium. The Promoters are assured that the London and St Katherine Docks Company have already arranged to lit up vaults with proper appliances for cool storage specially to meet the requirements of the Frozen Meat and Provision Trade. The Promoters have sufficient evidence before them to prove that the proposed business could be curried on at once with a reasonable certainty of substantial profits, on any purchases of Mock at current rates. 'J hey will, therefore, confidently rely on those who are directly or indirectly interested in developing the grazing industry of the country, to assist them in carrying out that which, if properly managed, c.innot fail to prove a very profitable undertaking. Forms of application can bo obtained from the- Secretnry, llereJ'ord Street, Cliristf.-hurch, at the Bank of Zen•hiiid, Christchurch, and its Agencies throughout Canterbury. Over 700 shiucs are already applied for. ' J
