THE LICENSING COMMITTEE AND MR HENNING'S VIEWS.
To the Editor.
Sir, —Mr Henning's views are somewhat singular. What wouid he think of any person, were he to say that two storokeepers were sufficient to do the whole of the trade of Akaroa! In regard to the dispensers of drink, I say the more the merrier, grant more licenses and the conseqaences would be more competition and cheaper drinks. 6d for a glass of beer is monstrous! Mr Henning's views are decidedly in favor or the monopolists, yet his conduct as a storekeeper is decidedly at variance with such a system. I wish we had a few moro Hennings's to commence business amongst us.—Yours, etc.,
