The last innings of Canterbury closed for 78 runs, leaving Otago, the winners, by no less than 77 runs. There is great at the defeat of the Canterbury men in Christchurch. Ashby's batting was the feature of the match on the Canterbury side. No particulars of the latter pnrt of the second innings of Canterbury have reached us.
