Brisbane, January 26

General Fielding, who recently completed the survey of the proposed transcontinental railway to the Gulf of Carpentaria, has submitted a proposal on behalf of a London Company to the Queensland Government for the construction of the line. The proposal has however, not been accepted by the Government, and certain terms offered by the latter have accordingly been referred by General Fielding to the London Syndicate.
