ORDINARY MEETING.

The ordinary meeting was held after the >_. special one. Present —His Worship the-; Mayor, Crs McGregor, Bruce, Cullen, Black, Chamberlain, and Gutberlet. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting .were read and confirmed. OUTWARD CORRESPONDENCE. The Clerk read the outward correspondence. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. The following letters were read :— From Mr Daly as follows :— "AkaroafDec. 19,1881. * " .Gentlemen,—l hereby request permission to again put down the rails recently taken up opposite my store, and to construct a crossing at the same place. Yours, etc. '• James Daly." Proposed by Cr Bruce, seconded by Cr Chamberlain, that the request be granted subject to the approval of the Works Committee. From Mr Wilkins enclosing account. From Mr W. H. Gundry a3 follows:— " Ashburton, Dec. 13, 1881. " Sir.—Your favor of the 9th inst. to hand. The Crown grant of Reserve 2198

Before the' Council wilfbe able to take any definite steps in taking the Domain in question over; it will be,necessary for your Board to apply to the.
