AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
Sydney, December 15,
In the Legislative Assembly last night, Sir Henry Parks, the Premier, made a lengthy statement legarding his approaching visit to England. He stated that he undertook the same solely on account ot ill-health, but that while in America he would interview the United States Government, and endeavour to obtain the free admission of Australian wool to America. All the Colonial Governments except Victoria had authorised him to pet on their behalf in this matter. Sir Henry further announced that he would take action in concert with New Zealand, and do his utmost to obtain an American contribution towards the San Francisco mail service. While in London he intended to re-arrange the system of emigration to New South Wales. Parliament would be prorogued between February and June, and in the hitler month ho expected to ruturn to the Colony. Li his absence his duties would bo performed by his colleagues, and his journey would cost the Colony nothing.
