The privileges for a Friendly Societies fete on Boxing day fetched over a hundred
pounds,
A new Licensed Victuallers' Gazette and sporting journal will be started shortly in Christchurch. Very liberal support, has already been promised.
No fresh news was elicited at tbe inquest to-day on the two men drowned yesterday in the River IL-athcotc. A vorlict of accidental drowning was returned. A subscription was started in town to-day for tho wife of the cabman who tried to save Uampbell, It is believed over £200 will be collected.
