CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALES.

Messrs Robert Wilkin and Co. report that they held their first wool sale of the season on Nov. 29. The catalogue comprised 960 bales, and was one of the most successful ever held in Christchurch. 904 bales were sold and 56 bales passed in, not reaching owners 1 reserves. It is worth while to remark, in passing, many fanners place a reserve on their wool above the London value, expecting speculators not only to pny the full value of the wool in thiH market, but to risk the whold of the esppnses of shipment to London. It is hardly to be expected that buyers will do this but we may congratulate our selling dienis i/n getting prices quite equal to those now being paid in London. The merino wool being all farm lots and heavy in grease realised up to 10d per lb. and i-rossbreds reached 10£ d. being an average comparing most favorably with any account sales received from London for the same description of wools for the p;.st twelve months.

Messrs H. Mntson and Co. and J. T. Ford and Co. also held satisfactory β-ilee same day, and on Nov. 30 the NZ L. ami M. A. Co. offered 422 bales and 80 simlh-r packages, nearly all. of wi.i h iound buyers at excellent prices.
