County Council TO THE ELECTORS OF THE LITTLE RIVER RIDING. aE NTLEMEN,—Having been returned by you as your Representative in our County Council, it is incumbent on me to express my acknowledgements for such proof of your confidence, and this I beg to do most heartily. Further, a flock of sheep or herd of cattle may be transferred or appropriated without regard to the interests or in clinations of the creatures themselves, but the attempt to appropriate our Riding in a somewhat similar manner was an aggression upon the self-respect of the district. Your prompt action in the matter was a fitting and effective expression of your resentment. It is also a cause of increased satisfaction to me, and will, I am confident, reflect credit upon yourselves, in every liberal and intelligent mind in the County, besides setting an example that would be commendable for some other Ridings to imitate.
