The Melbourne Cup.—The race for the Melbourne 3up took place on Tuesday, and resulted as follows . —Zulu (Barbarian — Maiden Binsh), 3 yrs, sst 71b, 1; The Czar, 6st 91b, 2; Sweetmeat, 9st 31b, 3. The following horses started :—Sweetmeat, Wellington, Savanaka, First Wateft Sir Modred, Suwarrow, Lord Bnrleigh, Odd Trick, Waterloo, β-athurst, Canary, Wandering Jew, Trump Yoss, Darebin, Pawnbroker, Bandalbion, Czar, Wheatear, tiomnus, Orient, Pollio, Guinea, Carmen, Waxy, Greyhound, Santa Glaus, Duchess, Cockney,Zulu,andOxalia. Somnuscut the running out for the first quarter of a mile, followed by Zulu. At three-quarters of a mile from home Zulu took the lead, and was never caught, winning the race by two lengths, limo, 2 i»iu 32£secs, The wofilher w,is fine, and there wae an minsrisii attendance on the course.
