The Promoters of this Association in introducing it to the public, wish to draw attention to the benefits to be. derived by the establishment in Canterbury of a Company to be worked on cooperative principles, having for its objects the furtlcrance of the Farming Interests. These interests would be served hy — Offering facilities to the Farmer for the Storage and Shipment of his produce to the Homo or other Markets, and the appointment of Agents in different localities for the furtherance of this object. It is to be l-elirved that a very considerable saving l may be effected in Freight, Charges, and Marine Insurance, particularly in the first named, by acting with the kindred Farmers' Association at Timaru. A matter which wil. b considered by the Association will be the grading and classification of Shipments of produce in order to facilitate their sale at the most advantageous prices. Effecting advances to Members on any Securities real and personal that the Directors appointed by tbe Association may think fit. Acting as general Merchants in procuring for sale to the Shareholders, Cornsacks, Wool packs, Agricultural Implements, Seeds, and other articles. Extending the working of the Association in any direction which may seem likely to benefit the Members, the. Association undertaking the indenting of goods, and acting as Ag-nts generally in all branches of business for the Shareholders. Conducting the sales of the Society on a cash basis.
