Wellington, September 12
The Premier madu a, statement to-day, mentioning the Bills the Government intended to proceed with and those they intended to drop, lie expressed a hope that the business of the fossion would be brought to a close by the middle of next week, but, thai this would depend on members summarising tlieir remarks instead of inalciH.tr knglhy ypeeciV;* There is a disposition on the part of the'
members to bring the session to a close as soon as possible. The estimates will be preceded with tc-night. The Corrupt Practices Prosecution Bill will probably be referred to a select committee which may make such alterations as will be acceptable to the House, and thereby save discussions. Members are very anxious to see the Bill passed. The Akaroa High School Bill was carried through committee in the Council to -day, and was read a third time and passed.
