PARLIAMENTARY
f FROM OUll OWN COUHESPONDGNT.] Wellington, August 22. There is no excitement ot* any kind. Mr Pyke's motion on a question of privilcdjo was not moved. The Railway Construction Bill will come on for second reading to-night. I understand there will be Btrong opposition to it from the Northern members. < Many memjers from Otago think the Bill does not go far enough, or hold out sufficient inducements for a private company to undertake the construction of a line of railway. Tho Bill will probably be read a second time, and modified in Committee. The Nelson members still speak of blocking the Redistribution of Seats i Bill and probably will try it for a time, bat I believe they will not succeed in making any material alteration.
