PRESS ON

Grow not tired of the journey, Though the rond be rough and steep ; Press on boldly, j.ress on bravely, Lie not down to mourn and weep. You will never reatih the summit Of tlie hill if you ore weuk ; Stop by stop doth bring us nearer To the goal we seek. Weeping over shattered idols Will not on the pedestal Upon which our hopes wo builded Reinstate the one who fell; Moaning over f«u't« and errors Will not our p *st shame undo ; Let us rather with .fresh purpose Live henceforward true. Strong , and faithful in each duty, Noble in each trivial part, Knowing: that our fiercest battle Is in fighting our own heart; Eisii above the care and worry, All your jealousies forget, Love your neighbor as your brother, You'll be happy yet, Bear the burden of the weaker Brother toiling by your side, Suffer him to lean upon you ; May it bo your hope and pride So to journey on life's pathway That when you have passed away You may leave behind you landmarks That will not lead astray. Hold the lantern of contentment In your hand ns on yon go, Over stone and thorny byways It will cast a ruddy glow ; Carry p<.ace and good will with you, And through every sorrow Cheer your hearts that rest is coining On the morrow. Alice.
