PARLIAMENTARY
fi'ROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] r Wellington, August 4. There is no political excitement at pro ! sent. The House went into Committee 1 on the Estimates on Tuesday, but no pro gress was made, as members complainec that copies of the Estimates had been dis. tribtated only an hour previously, and that further time was required before proceeding to vote. This delay was granted To-morrow the Estimates will be again brought forward, and I anticipate there t will be some pretty strong speeches made, as objections are taken to salaries of highly paid officials being restored to the same amount as before the reductions were made. The Redistribution of seats Bill will be brought down on ; Monday, and distributed on Tuesday to members. It is understood that the total number of European members will be 91, Canterbury to get six additional members. The Akaroa electoral district wlli be in all probability bounded by the boundaries of the county.
