A boy named Orson Brooks, together with a horse, has been drowned in attempting to cross the Waimea River. Dunedin, July 7. Michael O'Grady, for fraudulent bankruptcy, was sentenced to a month's imprisonment, without hard labor. The point reserved for the Appeal Court was withdrawn. Thomas Allen, seedsman, has been committed for trial for libelling Mr Massey, Town Clerk
