A CORRECTION.

To the Editor. Sir. —"Will you kindly allow me to correct your report of the late County Council meeting, held on May 28, where it reads thus :— " Mr Barker thought it would be unfair to other districts. The same thing had been done, or nearly so, in other cases, he thought a better plan was to take over some of the main roads." "What I did say was this:—That I objected to any more money being spent in the Akarofi and Wainui district, unless they served all Eoad Boards alike, in the County; as not long since they had refused almost similar applications from the Pigeon Bay Road Board, and also the Okain's Road Board, and I did not see why the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board should have the preference. If it was going to be a scramble for the money in the Conncil the sooner the main mads were taken over by the Council the better I am, etc.— JOHN B. BARKER. Little Akaloa, June 13, 1881.
