WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, FAT. HIDES, AND TALLOW REPORT.
Messrs IT M-itson and Co. report :— On Thursday, nt our Canterbury Wool Stores, we held our usual weekly sale of the above. There was the average attendance of fellmongers, tanners, and soapboilers, and values throughout were about equal to those of last week. Our catalogue consisted of 1696 sheepskins, 148 bags rough fat, 69 hides and calfskins, and several casks and packages tallow, all of which weie disposed of at prices at quotations as under, viz :—Butchers' best cross-bred sheepskins, 4s 10.1 to 5s 6d ; second quality, 3s 9d to 4s 9d each ; medium, 2s Gd to 3s 84 each ; butchers' bent merinos made 3s 3d to 3s lid each ; spcond quality. 2s 4d to 3s 2d each; medium, fa Gd to 2s 3d each; full-<vool country skins, 5s to Gs Id each; dry and inferior skins, cross-! red <rr merinos, 3d to Is Id each-, as per description. Butchers' best rough fat, 2fd to 2 7-16 d per lb ; second quality, 2£d to per lb, none
lelowthe latter figure. Hides—Special lino. 44. 1 per lit; general average ditto, 4d per d> ; tallow, 23s to 25?; Gd per cwt.
