PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of tin's Board was beld on AI ay 7 th, in ihe Board's office. Present—Messrs Hay (chairman), Budua, I'itCiuthlv, and Petligrew. The minutes of the previousmeeting were read and confirmed. Mr Mclntosb, one of the members of the Board, having , been absent without leave from four-consecutive . meetings of the Board, was by some members deemed to be no longer a member of the Board. The Chairmn' , , having obtained legal advice on some special points, stated that the Board was advised that he was no longer to be reckoned a member. Mr Holmes' offer of a rood through Holmes' Bay was further considered, but it was decided, on the motion of Mr PettiI grew, seconded by MrPitcaithly, that before any course was adopted a meeting of ratepayers should bo called to ascertain their views on the matter, and also to elect a new member in room of Mr Mclntosh. CORHICSPOXDENCE. Letters were read— From Messrs Joynt & Perceval, re Mr Mclntosb's case, referred to above. From the Chairman of the Pert Levy Road Board, re road through Holmes' Bay. From Mr Hunt, requesting assistance in road to bis place. It was decided to grant the request. From the llangitikei County Council, with circular and resolutions bearing on questions of local government. The Clerk was directed to write expressing the willingness of the Board to co-operate with the Council in its efforts to obtain the object in view. From the Manawatu County Council, b«iiiLf circular notice referring to same .subject as last month's. From the Public Works Office, Wellington, requesting annual Ht.atistic.il return. From the County Clerk re boundary between Port L'ivy and Pigeon Bay Road Districts, enclosing communication from the Colonial Secretary on the same. ■ The Chairman was requested to ascertain the sentiments of the Port Lovy Boaid on the subject.
