STOCK REPORT.
A large number of the trade assembled at tho Addington Yards on Wednesday, when 7871) sheep and 397 head of cattle were yarded. Sheep.—the sr.poly of fat sheep was not large; the bulk comprised good and medium quality cross hreds, with a fair proportion of extra prime quality merino wethers. From the opening of the sale the competition was keen, and the various lots offered changed bands at prices highly satisfactory to owners. Prime iross-breds sold from 13s to 10-s, good ditto 11s to 12s Gd, prime merinos from 10s to 10s Gd, good ditto from 8s Gd to 5H We qnote mutton at 2;V per II). Store cross-breds ewes sold at D.s Gd, but many lots of store merinos not reaching ownera' reserves were passed in. Lambs in large drafts brought from (J.s to 7s Gd per head. Cattle. —A fair supply of fnt catlleeaino forward, the prices about equal lo last week's rates were obtained. There was a larger supply of stores than tisu-d, but on account of there being no improvement in late rates, several lots were turned out unsold.
