THE AKAROA LIBRARY.
To the Editor. Sir, —" A Subscribor'B " letter contains a few inaccuracies. 1. A tender lias been accepted for painting, but not for "decorating the library building externally." 2. The building requires painting. 3. The money is not " withdrawn from the ordinary revenue." 4. Tho maintenance of the building is a "function of the Committee of Management." 5. The " old Trust" may have vitality— it has not ebown " obstructiveness." 6. The painting has been decided on without any request from the ,l old Trust." Accepting as a fact tho statement that Arcadians paint lilies, would ' A Subscriber" be good enough to let the Committee know how the wiping out the " old Trust" would popularise tho library?—l
am, etc..
