AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Tuesday. Feu. 22,1881. Before G. fl. Saxton, Esq., J.P., and His Worship the Mayor. CATTLE TRESPASS. C. W. Bridge and <r. Black were each fined 5s and costs for allowing horses to wander. DRUNKENNESS. For worshipping too freely at the shrine of Bacchus, C. Haylock was fined 10s and costs. FURIOUS RIDING. Happy, a Maori, was charged with furious riding in a public thoroughfare. Defendant (who did not look very happy on the occasion) was fined 20s and costs. CIVIL CASES. Home v. Halliday, alias Gibson. Claim £8 13s, wages. Judgment by default for the amount claimed and costs. The Court then adjourned. Thursday, February 24. Before Justin Aylmer, Esq., R M. larceny. Kenneth McKenzie was charged with the larceny of a pair ot boots, valued at 10s. It appeared that the boots were stolen from Mr Sunckell's slaughterhouse. Sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment with hard labor. The Court then adjourned.
