PENINSULA CHEESE.

To the Editor.

Sir, —According to the logic of your correspondent "Veritas," everything passing under the hammer is of inferior quality. The nuda veritas of my last was too much for him, so he flies off at a tangent and says—" I have been in salerooms in Christchnrch, and have never seen," etc. Now, was there any cheese at all to bo seen there? Was he in search of that article, or simply wool-gathering when he was in town ? If " Veritas " considers a sale room the last place in which to look for a good article, let me remind him that wiser men than he buy the best land sad choicest stock and produc9 in such places frequently, and are not ashamed to say so, Lβ Bon's Bay is not an El Dorado, but a part of the Peninsula, inhabited by hardworking people, who wish to be truthfully represented and fairly dealt with ; and so we look with great interest to the meeting to be held on Saturday at the Head of the Bay.

If your correspondent will let us know when he is coining to see us, we will meet him, before he gets out of his latitude with our local band.—l am, etc.

EXPORTATION.

P.S;—Our Pigeon Bay neighbors will surely have jumped up and never come down again after having been so fondly stroked by ,l Veritas."

Le Bon's, Feb. 18.
