The Akaroa Mail. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4.
The Akaroa School Committee met in the schoolroom on Tuesday evening. All the members were present, and the Rev 11. Stocker occupied the chair. A letter was read from tho Board of Education, mtimnting that B. Missen, a pupil teacher, had resigned. It was resolved that applications be invited from either boys or girls to fill the vacancy. Mr W. Sims was appointed to countersign cheques with the Chairman. Conversations ensued in reference to the putting in force the compulsory clauses of the Act, in reference to punctuality of attendance, and on the subject of a High School; but from the tact that all the correspondence on some of the subjects was not in the hands of the new Committee, the meeting was adjourned for a week.
