Mr Moore offered 15s for tbe right to cut some grass seed alongside the road.— The off>.T was accepted. LIC RON'S BAY JETTY. The Chairman asked what the Board intended to do with this jetty. Mr Barker supposed they had better lot it again. The Chairman could not see the use of letting it, if they could not get tho rent. Ultimately it was resolved, on the motion of Mr Barker, to invito tenders from persons willing to act as wharfinger at a commission not exceeding fifty percent. OKAIN'S BAY JETTY. It was resolved to deal with this jetty in the same manner, inviting tenders for the ollice of wharfinger on the same terms. OKAIN'S BAY POUND. The Poundkeeper was in attendance, and produced his book, showing that the receipts for the past year amounted to £5 10slOid. On tho question of re-letting the pound, Mr VV. Thacker thought the Board should get some rent, or portion of the fees for it. The rest of the members seemed to think that £5 a-year was little enough remuneration for the trouble of looking after it. and it was let again to the same holder, Mr H. W. Harris, on the same temi3 —viz., that he receive the'fees. CORPOIUTK SEAL. Mr Barker thought it would be necessary for the Board to have a seal. He moved that the Chairman bo authorised to procure a seal for the use of the Board.— Carried. ROAD TO DALGLISII's HILL. Mr Dalglish made an application to the Board that something bo done to this road. The Chairman said that it wan evident that tbey had no money to spend on the road at present. Mr Dalglish said his rates amounted to £9 15-s. He would gnairantee to put GO day's labor on the road. To put it in another way, he would spend £20 on tha road, thus giving £1 for El. The Chairman thought that it would be a bad precedent. If they granted it in his case, they would be called upon to do it in twenty other cases. This opinion was concurred in by oilier memb'-rs of the Board, and on tho motion of Mr Barker a resolution was agreed to, declining the offer. Mr Dalglish had another propositon to make. Would the Board allow him to make the road himself? Mr Oldridge thought the matter had better stand over till the position of the road was definitely settled. It had been changed two or three times already. Mr Dalglish did not know what the Board was for, if they would neither make roads themselves, nor others to do them. Mr Barker moved that this Board would offer no obstruction to Mr Dalglish making this road at bis own expense. Tbe motion was carried. PROPOSED CLOSING OF ROAD. Mr Dalglish said ho paw the Board proposed to close a road in Le Bon's Bay. He would suggest that this road should be made use of ns an exchange to obtain a better approach to the carriage drive.
