IL'iiMic Notices. NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC. PLEASE take notice that I, the undersigned, have purchased the light to out the grass growing on all the roads iv the Akaroa ami ' Wainui Road District. I hereby caution any person or persons from either grazing or cutting on the roads. Any person so doing without fiist obtaining my permission, I shall prosecute them -criminally for wilful damages. Head of the Bay, Dec. 30, 1880 THE EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OP NORTH CANTERBURY, ELECTION OF COMMITTEES. rpHE BOARD, in pursuance of J_ power in that behalf conferred by " The Education Act 1877 " (section 64) hereby directs th.it a Public Meeting of the householders in every School District throughout the Educational District of North Canterbury, be held on MONDAY, the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, at 7 o'clock in the evening, for the election in each district of seven householders (section G4) to form the Committee for such district for. the year ending with the fourth Monday in January next year. The place of meeting shall be the Sehoolhor.se in each district which is provided with a SchooJhouse, and this is understood to mean the Main Sehoolhouso in any district which has more than one school. In the districts in which schools are not yet built, the. places of meeting shall be as follow :— Fleming ton—Wheatstone Hotel Hurunui —Hurunui Hotel Kir wee—Kirwee Hotel Mason's Flat—Horsely Downs Station The Board farther directs that the first meeting oi each School Committee be held in the place appointed for the 'elections, and immediately after the election, upon the same evening. The Board requests the Chairman of each public meeting to make to the Board, immediately after the election, a return of the names of the several households s elected to form the Committee, and recommends that each Chairman of Committee report his own election as soon as possible.
