"VTOTICE is hereby given that the _LS Okain's District Road Board propose to stop all that piece of road containing by admeasurement two acres, more or less, running between Sections 6402 and 0329, commencing at the road forming the south-west boundary of these sections, and extending in an easterly direction to its junction with the road passing through Section 9329, as the same is delineated on the plan. And the said Board further give notice that the plans of the road proposed to bo stopped are now open for 'inspection at the Post Office, Le Bon's Bay, until TUESDAY the sth day of April. ELECTION OF COMMITTEES. rpHE BOARD, in pursuance of JL power in that bohalf confenvd by " The Education Act 1877 " (section fi-t) hereby directs that a Public Meeting of the householders in every School District throughout the Educational District of North Canterbury, bo held on MONDAY, the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand fight hundred and eighty-one, at 7 o'clock in the evening, for the election in each distiict of seven householders (section G4) to form the Committee for such district for the year ending with the fourth Monday in January next year. The place of meeting shall be the Schoolhouse in each district which is provided with a ScliooJhouse, and this is understood to mean the Main Schoolhouse in any district which has more than one school. In the districts in which schools are not yet built, the places of meeting shall be as follow :— Flcmington—Wheatstonc Hotel Hurunui— Hurunui Hotel Kirwee—Kirwee Hotel \ Mason's Flat—Horsely Downs Station The Board further directs that the first meeting ol each School Committee be held in the place appointed for the elections, and immediately after the election, upon the same evening. The Board requests the Chairman of each public meeting to make to the Board, immediately after the election, a return of the names of the several households s elected to form the Committee, and recommends that each Chairman of Committee report his own election as soon as possible. Endorsed tenders are to be sent to the Chairman of the Board not later than 3 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, the 19th January. The Board does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender. A. W.
