PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this Board was held in their office last Saturday. Present —Messrs liny (Chairman), Pettigrew, Mcintosh, and Pitcaithly. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. Letters were read — From Mr Menzies, Mcintosh Bay, settling the Board's account against him. From Mr E. S. Latter, in reference to a pound board. From Assistant Under-Secretary for Public Works, acknowledging receipt of a request for a copy of the Government engineer's report on the Holmes' Bay road, with a promise that it should be considered. From the Secretary to the Treasurj", asking to have some statistical discrepancy corrected. From Akaroa and Wainui Road Board, intimating the approaching completion of Haines' Summit road, and inviting the Board to appoint a representative to meet their Chairman and Clerk on Dec. Bth, for the purpose of finally inspecting the work before passing it. The Board nominated its Chairman to see into the matter. From the Board's engineer, finally certifying in very favorable terms of Mr llodnett's contract in Holmes' Bay. From the surfaceman, with report for two months. ACCOUNTS. After passing accounts to the amount of £16 5s Bd, and giving instructions relative to the election of new members tor the Board in room of tho three who retire, the Board adjourned.
