WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.

Messrs 11. Matson and Co. report—On Thursday, at our Canterbury Wool Stores, we held our weekly sale of the above. '1 here was a fair attendance of felhnongers, & id values obtained compare favourably with any previoirs sale of the season. In fat and tallow, however, a decline of fully |d per lb had to he submitted to, owing to very unsatisfactory telegrams received from the English markets. Our catalogue for the day, consisted of 2G9G sheepskins, 201 hags rough fat, 91 hides, a few packages tallow, and 311 hags wool, locks and pieces, all of which were disposed of at tli" following quotations, viz. :—Butchers' beat cross-breds made Gs to Gs lOd each ; second quality, 53 to 5s lid ; medium, 3s 9d to 4s lid each. Butchers' best merinos made Gs to Gs 7d each ; second quality, 5s to 5s lid each ; medium, 4s to 4s lid each. Lambskins, for best, Is 7d ; second quality, Is 3d to Is 5d ; inferior la each. Pelts, for best, Is 'id to Is 5d each; second quality, lid to Is Id each ; medium, 5d to 9d each. Butchers' best rough fat, made 2d to 2£d per lb ; second quality, if I to l£d ; inferior, Id to l}ji} per lb. IVHow, l|d to 2|d per lb. Hides, 3Au per lb ; damaged hides, 2£d per lb. Calfskins 4d per lb. Wool in bags, made C|d to 5Ud per4b ;do pieces, 3d to GJd per lb ; do locks, |d to 4|d per lb.
