Melbourne, Nov. 25.

The debate on Mr Berry's Bill for the reform of tho Constitution, which was expected to have commenced this week, has boon postponed till next week.

In the Legislative Assembly last night, Mr Orkney, member for West Melbourne, and a suj porter of the Opposition, gave notice of motion to rescind Mr David Garrison's appoii.tment as Chairman of Committees.

Messrs Tomkins and Pingle have been summoned by the police for permitting Jane and Kato Kelly to exhibit on their premises. The case has been adjourned for a week.

London, Nov. 23.

A sanguinary fight took place at Ballina, in County Mayo, Ireland, to-day, between the police and people who were obstructing the arrest of some Leaguers. Several policemen were very severely wounded. Fifteen persons have been arrested in Mayo on a charge of intimidation of the landlords at Ballinrobe.

The November-December series of wool auctions opened to-day. There was a good attendance of home and foreign buyers. The opening catalogue comprised 4800 bales. Prices were firmly maintained, and there was fair competition. The present series close on Dec. 14.
