PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting - of tin's Board was held in the Board's office on Saturday, November G, 1880 Present: — Messrs Hay (chairman), Pitcaithly and Budiia. Letters w.ere"read :— From Messrs Joynt and Perceval relative to Crown reserve for road in Holmes' Bay which Uio Clerk was directed to acknowledge. From the Road Boards of Port Victoria, Port Lev}', Okains. Bay, Little River, and Akaroa and Wairiui relative to the desirability of abolishing the County Council. The majority of these Boards seemed heartily inclined to see the Council dissolved so that an appeal to the ratepayers may bring about the'accomplishment of the matter. Some conversation on the above subject now took place. From the Clerk, Okain's Bay re name of a ratepayeij occurring on two rate rolls. From the County Clerk re number of votes each ratepayer is entitled to. From the Assistant Under Secretary for Public Works relative to the stoppage, exchange, or sale of old public roads. The sections of the Public Works Act Amendment Act 1880 referred to svere read by the Chairman. He also read some of the provisions of tha Stamp Act Amendment Act 1880. which are well deserving the attention of all having any public transactions.
