WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.

Messrs IT. Matson and Cβ. report:—On Thursday at our Canterbury Wool Stores we held our usual weekly sale of the above. There was an averago attendance of fellmongerfl, «ri 1 the prices realised were considerably higher than last week. Our catalogue consisted of 2200 sheepskin?, 122 bags rough fat, 121 hides, a few bales and bags of wool, and a fow bags and packages of tallow, Il.e whole of which were disposed of at the following quotations, viz.:—Butehors' best cross-bred Hheopxkina brought Gs 4d to 7s, and a few oxtra heavy 8s each ; 2nd qnnlit3', s 3d, to 6a 3d each ; medium, 4s Gd to 5s 2d each ; butchers' best merinos made Gs to Gs 9d each, the lulter figure being the highest price over obtained in Canterbury for butchers , merinos ; 2nd quality, 5s 3d to 53 lid each ; medium, 4s to ss2d each ; lambskins brought lid each ; pelts, 4d,5d, and Gd each ; dry skins made from Iβ 3d to 3s Gd each, f«r inferior, and for beet 4n 0d to 7s 3d each ; butchers' best rough fat niarlo 2{d to 2ifd per Ib; second quality 2d to 2£d pur Ib ; inferior and heated. IJH to l£d per lit ; hides, 3id per Ib, two special lines being withdrawn for a higher figure ; damaged hidea, 2\<\ per Ib ; 'jalfskius, 4<l per Ib ; wool in bales to 0d ; do in bags, Gd to B','d per Ib ; pieces, 4d to Gid per Ib ; locks, 3£d per Ib ; tallow, in bagd and packages, brought from 2d to 2fd per Ib.
