Intelligence has been received that the Dragoman or interpreter attached to the Austrian Consulate at Prisend in Alabama has been assassinated.

It is expected that the vessels of the various fleets forming the combined squadron at Cittaro will remain there until the surrender of Dulcigno to the Montenegrins has been effected, and that they will then disperse. No active steps have.yet been taken by the Porte to make the cession, but some early action is looked for. The Albanians have resolved to resist the surrender of Dulcigno to the last extremity. The question of the settlement of the Turko-Greek frontier line is now being generally discussed, the leading English and Ooutmential papers deprecate pressing the Porte to carry out the decisions! of; the Berlin Conleren.ee in their entirety, and reccomend that the Powers should accept the recent proposal of the Sultan to cede to Greece the territory to the South of Larrisa and Janiiin, but not those towns themS'tlves.
Oct. 17. All those, persons who were arrested ** as being concerned in the murder of Viscount Mountmorrjs have been released, the evidence not being sufficient *- to conrict them.
