The Australian Cricketers were entertained at luncheon at the Holborne Viaduct Hotel to-day, by a number of Colonists .and others, and over 120 persons were present. Lord ; Harris spoke in a most eulogistic terms of the Australians, and Baid he considered them pre-eminent at cricket.

The death of Mr Offenbach, the wellknown French musician, is announced to-diiy. He was 61 years of Age.

The Australian cricketers left England for the Continent, where they will spend a few days. They then proceed to Suez, and leave that port by P. and 0. steamer on Oct. 15 for Melbourne and Sydney.

The sculling match between Laycock and Blackman resulted in an easy victory for Laycock, ;
