Bred by William Boag, Esq., Fendalltown. by Prince Charlie, V_y dam Princess Maud (imported from Victoria, and bred by Mv Olgio, of Sunbury); by Baron of Glonleo (imported from Scotland) ; out of Princess j Maud 3rd, bred by Messrs Mclntosh Bros.,- by the imported horse Champion, out of their imported mare Princess Maud Ist, who was never beaten on any show ground in Great Britain or Victoria. Her progeny have also been very successful at shows, Princess Maud 3rd having taken the Great National Prizes at Ballarat and Kyneton. Prince Charlie, reckoned to be now the best horse in Canterbury, was imported from Scotland by Mr W. Boag. Ho was bred by Sir James Nickol Fleming, Knockdon, and was got by Prince Alfred, out of the celebrated Darling, dam of Prince of Wales. This horse is, without question, the most noted Stallion ever bred in Scotland, and at all the principal Shows, his Stock are conspicuous prize-takers. Besides the connection between Prince Charlie and Prince of Wales on the dam's side, the sire of Prince Charlie, Prince Alfred, was got hj Prince of Wales's sire, The General, which makes the relationship very close indeed. Chevalier is a beautiful dark dapple bay, and was foaled on December 24th, 1873, and for symmetry and substance he cannot bo surpassed. Chkvalier will be at Akaroa every Monday, and at Little River every Wednesday. Tekms—£3, payable January 1, 1881. Guarantee, £-t 10s. Gi'oomage Fee, ss, payable at time of service.
