Per Merchant Shipping and Underwriter's Association :—Arrived, William Davie, from Port Chalmers (June 28); Earl Granville, from Lyttelton(May 20) The death is announced of llight Hon. Sir Fitzroy Frith, Lord Chief Baron of the Exchequer, aged 84. It is announced that Turkey has sent a note to the Powers, protesting against their proposed combined naval demonstration, because it is feared the same will cause anarchy in Turkey. Ihe Porte agrees to guarantee to carry out the demands of the Powers in regard to the cession of Pulcigno if the naval display is abandoned. Constantinople, bept. iy.
Tho Albanians have re-ocupied Dul•cigno, and expelled the garrison which was stationed there. Paris, September ib. The crisis which has continued in the French Chambers for some days pa*t in regard to the expulsion of the Josuits is now terminating. Ministers have agreed to fully execute tho March decrcee against the order.
