INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.
To the Editor,
Sir, —I am a schoolmaster and in common with all my fraternity, take a great interest in the above exhibition. Naturally enough a sort of healthy emulation exists among us, prompting us to endeavor to qualify the pupils under our respective charges to contribute worth to the collection. But, sir, I catijhot help remarking that our ardor is considerably damped by a sort ef uneasy feeling that exhibits from outside schools are likely to be unfavorably handicapped. We-cannot shut our eyes to the fact that the, master ,■■.•«■■■ ■ ■■'... : j . i r of the Akaroa echeol takes an active part in the management of ,the whole affair ? including the drawing up the schedule, the allocation of prizes, and the arrangement of articles for exhibition, and even, as' I am informed, assisting the judges in., the execution of thoir duties. Verb am, etc., , <——i.-... COUNTRY SCHOOLMASTER. Sept. 4,1880.
