Mr Thomas Brooks reports on the live stock market as follows : —

At the eale on Friday, Sept. 3, there was not a large number of Btock yarded, but nearly every line was sold, biinging something more than owner's reserve. The following prices were realised : —Store cattle, 2-year-old, £2 15s ; yearlings, in poor condition, £2 2s; calves, £1 10a; springing heifers, from £5 to £5 los; small store pigs from £1 to £1 Gd ; one hack, £15. In fact, the Hale was a decided success, ns everyone appeared perfectly satisfied.
