In the House of Commons to-day the adjourned debate in Committee on the Irish Constabulary vote, was resumed. Further discussion took place, but the Irish members abandoned the obstructive course which they had pursued on Friday night. Mr Parnell made a speech, in the course of which ho promised to use his influence to prevent outrages in Ireland, aud to insure order in that country. The vote for the Constabulary was then passed, and the Committee proceeded with the other Estimates.

The match .which has been arranged between the Australian cricketers and an all England Eleven will commence on Monday, Sept. 6. The English team will be chosen from Lord Harris, the Hon A. Lyttelton, Messrs W. G. Grace, E. M. Grace, A. P. Lucas, F. Perm, A. G. Steel, I. D. Walker, and Barnes, Morley, and Shaw.

In the House of Commons a debate took place relating to Africa. The British Government deemed it undesirable to press confederation on that country against strong local opposition. Paris, August 30.

All the Jesuit schools and other establishments in France have now been closed in accordance with the decrees of the French Chamber. The schools had been evacuated by the inmates previous to their being visited by the police for the formal closing.
