AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Friday, August 21, 1880. (Before Justin Aylmeb, Esq., RM J - civil cases. Bank of New Zealand v. T. Worsley. —-Claim L4l 7s 4d, for a dishonored promissory note. There was no appearance of defendant, and Mr Nalder appeared for plaintiff. Mr Westenra, manager of the bank, stated that defendant had had plenty of time given him ; that he had given the bank an order to receive some money due to him from Mr St John, but that defendant had drawn the money himself. Mr Nalder stated that L 8 had been paid on account, le *ving a balance of L3B 7s 4d. His Worship made an order that defendant should pay L 8 7s 4d on August 81, and LlO a month afterwards till the debt was paid off, or in default a month's imprisonment.
R. Close v. J. Smith.—Claim L 34 3s for wages due.
There being no appearance of defendant judgment was given for plaintiff for the amount claimed and costs.
