year? Secondly, is it legal for the Chairman of a School Committee to occupy the schoolmaster's house ? Thirdly, is it legal for a member of a School Committee to retain his seat on the Committee and receive from that Committee £12 10n per year for school cleaning ? I may say, sir, this is our position at present, but the Committee is not unanimous on the point. . It has new, taken the Committee several nights to discuss the matter, and the said 'Chairman took part -in that discussion, also the member alluded ;to Of course they carried their point.
